A Liberal MP has changed his mind about working in federal politics.
Sean Fraser is running as the Liberal candidate in Central Nova.
In a Facebook post, Fraser says he received a call Monday from Liberal Leader Mark Carney who asked him to join the team.
“I said yes.”
He continues to say, “there is too much at stake for me to be comfortable sitting on the sidelines”, referring to the “economic threat” from the United States.
Fraser resigned from his role as Federal Housing Minister in December to spend more time with his family and said he would not run again.
Fraser was first elected in 2015 after defeating Conservative Peter MacKay in the Central Nova riding.
Now, Fraser says Carney has assured him he would be able to maintain a work-life balance.
“As I said-it’s elbows up. For me, this is what it looks like.”
